Valentine's Day Free DIY Digital File Printable

Valentine's Day is right around the corner. If you are looking for a cute way to give out a little candy or small gifts, check out my free "Happy Valentine's Day" printable.

Simply click on the link and download the file. Print it out on card stock, cut it out, and glue it on to a paper bag. I used a brown paper bag, it would also look good on a white bag. This would also make a cute gift tag.

Free Digital File Friday! Recipe Card

I decided twice each month to giveaway a free digital file. With the holidays right around the corner, food is on everybody's mind, so I decided this Friday's FREE file would be a recipe card!

If your Thanksgiving is anything like mine, your guest’s will bring delicious dishes, and everybody will want the recipe, and of course no one will bring the recipe. So this year be prepared! Before next Thursday email the recipe card file to all your friends and family, tell them to make a couple copies of the recipe and bring it to Thanksgiving. Have a little recipe card swap, and everyone leaves happy.

How to get the free file? Just let me know you want it. You can email me at PeachPrints@comcast.net subject line Free File and I will send it to you. I will not use your email in any other way then to send you the file. I will be sending the file out to all people who request starting now through Tuesday, November 23, 2010. You will receive it within 24 hours after your request. What will you get? You will get one PDF file that contains two 4x6” recipe cards that you can easily print on your home printer. You can print as many as you want, you can share it with as many friends as you want. The only thing you can’t do is resell the file.

Here is a fantastic recipe to add to your collection, Chocolate Espresso Cupcakes. I've been wanting to play around with different cupcake flavors for a while now. I did a google search for espresso cupcakes and came across many recipies. I chose this one because it looked easy and I had all the ingredients. It is delicious! You must try it out.

Chocolate Espresso Cupcakes
makes 24 cupcakes

(adapted from
Bon Appétit)

cupcakes:

2 cups cake flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups (packed) golden brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup milk
2 tsp instant espresso powder dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water

cupcakes:
preheat to 325°F. line cupcake pan with paper cups.

Sift 2 cups cake flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt into medium bowl. Using electric mixer, beat butter in large bowl until smooth. Add brown sugar and beat until well blended, about 2 minutes. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla. Add flour mixture in 3 additions alternately with buttermilk in 2 additions, beating just until blended after each addition. Gradually add hot espresso-water mixture, beating just until smooth.

Divide batter between pans; smooth tops. Bake cupcakes until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 18 minutes. Cool cakes in pans on rack 15 minutes. Run small knife around sides of pans to loosen cakes. Invert cakes onto racks; lift pans off cakes and remove parchment. Place wire rack atop each cake; invert again so top side is up. cool completely.

For frosting, the recipe called for an espresso flavored whipping cream frosting which sounded delicious, but I started to get lazy and ended up using my Mom's butter-cream frosting recipe.

Here is a link to the blog Good Clean Fun Eating where you can find the original frosting recipe.

New Birth Announcements

I have been wanting to design Birth Announcements for such a long time. In the past few years, almost all of my cousins have had babies. Of course they sent out birth announcements, and every time I get one in the mail I think to myself, why am I not designing announcements yet? I finally sat down and made time.

You can choose 4 x 6 for $1.80 per card or 5 x 7 for $1.90 per card. I even have the option of digital file for $12. With a digital file you get all the same great personal touches that Peach Prints offers, but you print them yourself. I send you a high quality digital file in jpeg or pdf format and you can send them to your favorite photo finisher (Walgreens, Walmart, Snapfish...).

If you don't want the hassle of printing them yourself, we send all our birth announcements to be printed at Miller's Professional Imaging. Miller's began in 1964 and has developed a reputation for having the highest quality product. This way you are assured to get a great quality announcement.

Take a look!

Technology can be so confusing!

Technology is confusing I don't get it! I can't catch on and I'm not sure why. I'm in my 20's, I just graduated from college with a degree in television post-production and motion graphics. I'm great with computers and computer programs. I even worked for Harpo Studios, as in The Oprah Show. But when it comes to the Internet and all this social networking I'm lost.

I started Peach Prints and invitations company about a year ago to make some extra money during my last year of college. I found out I love to design invitations so I decided to try and make it a business. Everyone kept telling me I needed a blog. So I started this blog, which turned out to be a lot of fun. But now I have to promote this blog along with my company. My friends tell me join Twitter, that sounds easy enough, but what would I tweet about? And who would follow me? My friends also tell me to start a facebook page. I have a facebook page; I thought it was to connect with friends. I guess I will figure it out some day. Hopefully :)

Fort Building Fun!

How many of you made forts using couch pillows, kitchen chairs and old sheets as a kid? I know I did! There is something about forts as a kid that seemed so magical. Forts were fun to construct and more fun to deconstruct, usually by running through them.

Even though I think using ordinary objects found around the house, sparks great creativity and imagination. You must check out these toys designed for building forts.

I would imagine that Crazy Forts would be perfect for the child who likes toys like legos. Crazy Fort allows children to construct a tent using peg and stick style construction to create all types of fort designs.

Another great product would be Fortamajig Connectables by the Happy Kid Company. Fortamajig kids must use connecting fabric panels to create a fort.

So this weekend let the kids go wild give them permission to deconstruct the couch and construct a tent. Happy Tent Making!
